Hitchcock String Studio
This studio is for serious, curious, and committed violinists who love the craft of getting better.
I work with students who:
- Practice most days and want clear, honest guidance
- Are excited to dig into sound, character, and musical story, not just “getting the notes”
- Want to grow toward auditions, advanced ensembles, or simply deeper artistry
Lessons focus on:
- Building comprehensive technique to enable all artistic choices
- Reliable musical tools you can use on your own to understand what you play and make informed, creative artistic choices
- Building the mental skills needed to thrive and enjoy every performance/audition/recording session.
If you’re ready to show up, think deeply, and enjoy the challenge, this studio will give you the structure and mentorship to really grow.
Who I Teach
My studio is designed for serious, curious, committed violinists.
- Core focus: intermediate and advanced students, typically ages 11–18, who are playing in (or preparing for) youth orchestras, all-state auditions, school ensembles, and college auditions.
- I also welcome younger students around 9+ who have at least 1–2 years of experience and are excited to practice most days.
- Adult amateurs who love the instrument and want thoughtful, honest guidance are very welcome as well.
If you enjoy practicing, like to think deeply about music, and want to grow your sound, technique, and musical storytelling, you’re probably a good fit here.
